FNS Approves Four Additional ZIP Codes for Franklin DSNAP 04.14.16 - The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) received approval from the federal Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) for additional ZIP codes in Franklin Parish that were impacted by recent floods to be added to the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP). Beginning Thursday, April 14, Franklin parish ZIP codes 71243, 71249, 71336 and 71378 may apply for disaster food benefits. Avoyelles Parish ZIP Code 71351 Added to Week's DSNAP 04.12.16 -The federal Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) has approved an additional parish for the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) beginning today, Tuesday, April 12 through Friday, April 15. Residents living in the communities of Brouillette, Vick, and Center Point in Avoyelles Parish ZIP code 71351 and who were impacted by the March floods may be eligible to receive disaster food assistance.
DSNAP Sites Approved in Four Parishes 04.09.16 - The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) has received approval to operate the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) in four additional parishes - Catahoula, East Carroll, Franklin, and St. Helena - for four days beginning Tuesday, April 12 through Friday, April 15. Almost 52,000 Households Receive Disaster Food Assistance in Initial DSNAP Operation 03.29.16 - The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) issued more than $19.1 million in disaster food benefits to 51,720 households who applied for Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) aid in 23 parishes last week. Flood Victims: Pre-Register Before Going to a D-SNAP Site 03.20.16 - Flood victims should pre-register before going to disaster food assistance sites to apply for aid. Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) officials are urging those impacted by the floods to help speed the aid application process by pre-registering online at www.dcfs.la.gov/dsnap or calling the toll-free helpline at 1-888-LAHELP-U (1-888-524-3578), which is now open between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily.
