On the Road Again with Child Support

On the Road Again with Child Support

The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services is holding a limited-time promotion to help parents who have lost their driver's licenses due to unpaid child support. The On the Road Again initiative offers noncustodial parents whose licenses have been administratively suspended by DCFS an opportunity to have them reinstated for a reduced fee. The program ends October 31, 2024, and all payments must be received by that date.

Custodial parents who have questions about how this promotion affects the enforcement of your case can call 1-888-LA-HELP-U (1-888-524-3578) to find out more.

Eligibility and Requirements

For each case, noncustodial parents must pay:

Two months of court-ordered child support
$100 toward past-due support
Administrative fee (if court-ordered)

Note: This amount does not include any reinstatement fees from the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV). Noncustodial parents interested in participating are encouraged to make an appointment with their child support caseworker to find out how much they must pay to qualify for the promotion.
