Dr. Rebecca Hook
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Rebecca Hook, MD, FAAP, is the Director of Medical Services for the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), where she leads statewide initiatives to improve health and behavioral health outcomes for children involved in the child welfare system. In this role, she collaborates with Medicaid, managed care organizations, healthcare systems, and community partners to strengthen care coordination, healthcare access, and quality oversight for children in foster care and other out-of-home placements.
A board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Hook previously served as Director of the S.A.F.E. Clinic at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, where she specialized in the evaluation and care of children affected by sexual abuse. She brings a unique perspective that combines frontline pediatric clinical practice, child welfare expertise, and healthcare leadership to advance outcomes for vulnerable children and families across Louisiana.
