Accessing Child Support Case Information

DCFS provides two ways to access automated Child Support Enforcement (CSE) case information:

  1. Online through the CAFE' Self-Service Portal
  2. By calling our toll-free Customer Service Center at 1-877-7LADCFS (1-877-752-3237) 

Creating an account for either option requires creating a unique User ID and pin number. Accessing information online also requires a password.

Accessing Case Information through the Cafe' Self Service Portal (SSP)

Creating a New Account

  1. Choose "New to LA CAFÉ? Click to get started," located on the main page of CAFÉ under the photo.
  2. On the next page, choose "Next" in the lower right of the page.
  3. Enter required information in the "Setting Up Your Account" page to create a User ID, password, and PIN number, then select "Next."
    *Please note: Your User ID should be something unique to you, such as your email address. 
    Your PIN number is the same PIN number you received if you called 1-877-7LA-DCFS (1-877-752-3237).
  4. You will be directed to the "MYLA" website for additional information. After completing the necessary fields, select "Sign up".
  5. Check your email and verify your email account. This step must be completed within 24 hours.
  6. Log onto your CAFE' SSP account.

Accessing Child Support Information Once an Account is Created (or if you have an existing CAFE' account)

  1. Log in to the CAFE' SSP using yor CAFE' User ID and password.
  2. Select "Check My Cases," on the "My Account" page.
  3. Under "Case Summary," select "Add a CSE case to your account."
  4. Follow the steps under "Your Account" by entering your date of birth, Social Security Number, and the first five letters of your last name. Select "Next". 

** It is important to remember your new User ID and PIN number, as you will need this to access your case when you call 1-877-7LADCFS (1-877-752-3237) **

Creating a User ID and Pin number

  1. Call 1-877-7LA-DCFS (1-877-752-3237) and select Language Type.
  2. Press 2 for Child Support Enforcement information.
  3. If you are a custodial parent or noncustodial parent in an active Child Support case, select 1
  4. Select 2 to create a User ID and PIN number
  5. Enter your Social Security Number, date of birth, and your desired 6-digit PIN number.
  6. If you have an active Child Support case, and your Social Security Number and date of birth are validated, you will create a new User ID.
  7. Write down the User ID and PIN number, as they will be needed for future calls.

Accessing Child Support Information Once an Account is Created

  1. Call 1-877-7LA-DCFS (1-877-752-3237) and select Language Type
  2. Press 2 for Child Support Enforcement Information
  3. If you are a Custodial Parent or Noncustodial Parent, select 1
  4. Select 1 again and enter your User ID and PIN number.
