Providing quality care to children and meeting their needs require a family’s emotional, physical and financial resources. Relative caregivers may, at times, find that they need assistance to meet the needs of the children in their care. In addition to the resources available within local communities by service organizations such as food banks, faith-based clothing closets, etc., relative caregivers may qualify for assistance through the Louisiana Department of Health programs below:
- SNAP – Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
- FITAP – Family Independence Temporary Assistance Program
- KCSP – Kinship Care Subsidy Program
Please refer to the Family Support webpage for eligibility requirements and application procedures.
