Supplemental SNAP Benefits, Other Changes Approved for August

07.28.2020 - Louisiana recipients of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits who are not already receiving the maximum amount for their household size will receive supplements in August to bring them up to the max. This is the sixth consecutive month Louisiana SNAP recipients have been approved for added benefits as part of federal COVID-19 relief.
SNAP July 2020 Redeterminations Deadline Extended

Redeterminations had been waived for April, May and June, but the USDA is now requiring DCFS to resume interviews, redeterminations and simplified reports. There’s still time to complete your redetermination. The deadline has been extended to Friday, July 17th, but you must act now!

06.29.20 - Inmar Intelligence, a data-driven technology-enabled services company, launched its new LifeInCheck™ EBT processing solution with the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. Louisiana's online application for the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program closed on June 15th with nearly 470,800 eligible children signed up to receive benefits to make up for the free and reduced-price meals children missed when school facilities closed to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Louisiana to Feed as Many as 600,000+ Students Whose Schools Closed in Pandemic

05.15.20 - Louisiana has received approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to help feed as many as 611,430 students during the coronavirus pandemic, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced today. Under the new Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) program, families of children who normally receive free or reduced-price meals at school may get financial assistance to replace those meals. All Louisiana public school and many non-public school facilities have been closed since March 16 because of the pandemic.
