DSNAP Approved for Eligible Residents in Impacted Areas of Orleans

2.16.17 - The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) announced federal approval of a Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) for residents impacted by the tornado in New Orleans. The affected area approved for DSNAP assistance is generally located south of Dwyer Road and Michoud Bayou, east of Wilson Avenue, north of Almonaster Avenue, and west of Gentilly Road. An impact map is attached and can be found at www.dcfs.la.gov/disaster and staff will be stationed at the DSNAP site entrance daily to verify addresses.

St. Tammany Parish has Additional ZIP Code Approved for DSNAP

09.08.16 - The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) received approval today from the federal Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) for an additional ZIP code in St. Tammany Parish that was impacted by recent floods to be added to the third phase of Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP). Beginning tomorrow, residents living in the immediate vicinity of the Tchefuncte River in St. Tammany ZIP code 70433 may also apply for DSNAP.

Sites Announced for Week Three of DSNAP

09.02.16 -The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) announced locations where residents in Evangeline Parish (ZIP codes 70515, 70524, 70535, 70554, 70576, and 70586), Iberville Parish, Jefferson Davis Parish, St. Martin Parish, St. Tammany Parish (western parts of ZIP codes 70435 and 70437), Washington Parish (ZIP codes 70431, 70438, and 70450), and West Feliciana Parish can finalize applications for the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) benefits.
