Waiver Granted for Some Louisiana Parishes as New Federal Rule Brings Work Requirements for Some SNAP Recipients Beginning April 1

A new rule that takes effect April 1 will require some Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients to meet new federal work requirements to continue receiving federal food assistance, commonly known as “food stamps.” The federal government also has granted a waiver for 14 Louisiana parishes that will not be impacted by the new rule change.
