DCFS Announces Changes in Child Care Assistance Program Rules

06.18.12 - The Department of Children and Family Services today announced it is issuing an emergency rule to reduce the maximum income limit for Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) eligibility, as well as reduce paid absences to providers for CCAP services, as a result of previous reductions in federal funding. These changes should result in a savings of $10.1 million a year.

The commercial focuses on the risk of co-sleeping or bed-sharing with parents and begins airing in the Shreveport, Lake Charles, Monroe and Lafayette areas today. A statewide release is set for April.
DCFS Seeks Injunction Against Unlicensed Child Care Provider in Calcasieu Parish

02.28.12 - The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) has filed a petition seeking a preliminary and permanent injunction against Glynn and Rose Richard for operating an unlicensed child care facility, Mo Mo's Home Care, in Calcasieu Parish. The provider admitted to keeping up to 22 children at any given time.
