Verify Your Identity for DSNAP with the LA Wallet App

Louisiana residents affected by Hurricane Laura are encouraged to register for the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP). DSNAP provides eligible low-to-moderate income households who do not receive SNAP benefits with help buying groceries due to lost income or damages following a disaster. Registration does not guarantee benefits, but will make the application process easier and quicker for applicants if a DSNAP is approved for their community.

The newest LA Wallet update expands functionality of VerifyYou™, the innovative identity verification system, with VerifyYou™ Remote. VerifyYou™ Remote offers businesses and organizations a secure option for remotely verifying an individual’s identity using their state-issued credential. The system generates a unique code through LA Wallet and the individual is prompted to verify their identity with the code or dismiss the verification request. Identity verification is securely confirmed by the Louisiana OMV.
