09.03.08 - The Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services (DSS) today introduced an online database to help friends and family locate loved ones with critical transportation needs who were electronically registered, evacuated and sheltered in advance of Hurricane Gustav.
Department of Children & Family Services Prepares for Disaster Food Stamps

09.02.08 - Following Hurricane Gustav, the Department of Children & Family Services is preparing for the issuance of Disaster Food Stamp benefits. This is a federally authorized program that must be approved by the United States Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Services before it can be implemented for eligible Louisiana residents.

09.01.08 - More than 84,000 Louisiana residents are currently taking refuge in shelters in nine states and the Department of Children & Family Services has created a hotline where loved ones can call to locate family members who evacuated for Hurricane Gustav. The phone number is 1-800-957-1601.
