FACILITATING THE FAMILY TEAM MEETINGS PROCESS (FTM-1)

The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Child Welfare will be implementing the Family Teaming Process throughout the state of Louisiana. The current phase of implementation will include Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Covington, Thibodaux, and Orleans regions. Implementation in these regions will include two (2) mandatory trainings, Facilitating the Family Team Meeting Process (FTM-1) and Incorporating Teaming into Everyday Practice (FTM-2). Each region will be provided several sessions of each training between September and December of 2015, in order to provide ample opportunity for staff to attend. There will be no make-up training sessions provided at this time.
These trainings are MANDATORY for all DCFS Child Welfare Foster Care and Adoptions Specialists, Supervisors, Managers, and CQI staff.
Special instructions: Facilitating the Family Team Meeting Process (FTM-1) is a 2 day training beginning each day at 8:30 a.m. and ending each day at 4:00 p.m.
All participants should register for training through their supervisor. Supervisors are required to send the Name of attendee, EIN, Region, Program, session date and time to DCFS.CW-Training@LA.GOV for each staff they are responsible for registering. Managers and supervisors may register themselves. The deadline for registration is two weeks prior to each training session. Incorporating Teaming into Everyday Practice (FTM-2) is a 1 day training beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m.
