The Reaching Higher curriculum was developed with the assistance of the National Resource Center for Permanency and Family Connections. The purpose of this training is to reach an improved level of service delivery for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ) youth and their families and to increase the competence for all types of child welfare staff.
Special instructions: TARGETED PARTICIPANTS: All professional level Child Welfare employees.
REGISTRATION: Space is limited to the first 24 registered participants for each location.
All participants should register for training through their supervisor. Supervisors are
required to send the name of attendee, EIN, region, program, session date and time to
DCFS.CW-Training@LA.GOV for each staff they are responsible for registering. Managers and supervisors may register themselves. The deadline for registration is two weeks prior to each training session.
