Infant Mental Health Training

This training utilizes vignettes and video demonstrations to highlight skills and techniques for working with infants. Real life scenarios, practical application and examples are useful when discussing factors relative to a child’s development, attachment and relationships. The training encourages participants to consider the roles of natural helpers, caregivers and professionals and how each impacts the lives of children and caregivers. The training will be offered in a three part series, with two day increments.

This training will begin at 8:30 am and end at 4:00 pm on the following days. Participants should make arrangements to attend all training sessions.
February 14: Part 1: Introduction, Social and Emotional Development, Attachment
February 15: Keys to Caregiving (The workbook for this session will be provided by the LCWTA to participants approved to attend.)
March 15: Part 2: Social and Cultural Contexts of Parenting
March 16: Part 3: Psychopathology in Infancy
April 19: Part 4: Parent-Infant Assessment
April 20: Part 5: Interventions: Prevention and Specialized Techniques
