Children’s Mental Health and Childhood Disorders

This is an announcement of Children’s Mental Health and Childhood Disorders Workshops, offered in collaboration with Healthy Blue (formerly Amerigroup). These workshops will focus on the diagnosis of childhood disorders by comparing social work assessments with clinical DSM-V assessments examining four key disorders: ADHD, Oppositional-Defiant Disorder, Separation-Anxiety Disorder, and Conduct Disorder. The focus of the workshops is on the criteria for diagnosis (using the DSM-V), on effective psychosocial interventions (evidence-based treatments), and on psychopharmacological interventions (evidence-based treatments; risks/benefits). The goal of the workshops is for child welfare workers to obtain basic information on the diagnosis and effective treatment of childhood disorders.
