This training is a make up training for those who missed the Advanced Safety Focused Practice Foundations Training when it was scheduled in their assigned regions.

The purpose of this training is to give participants a foundational, yet precise, understanding of key concepts related to safety assessment and safety intervention used in child welfare practice. This training will also help participants understand and differentiate between present and impending danger and they will be provided with guidance for responding to both. This course will also work through information collection sufficiency in the six areas of family assessment and criteria based decision making within the context of safety intervention in Child Welfare Practice. This training will include interviewing skills and safety focused practice as it relates to Child Welfare practice and services.

Special instructions: This is a mandatory training for all professional level child welfare staff assigned to the CPI, FS, AR, FC, AD and HD programs who did not attend this training or complete this training during the implementation period.
