DCFS Orientation (The Road To Success) Classroom Training

The course was created to provide new employees with the Department's expectations and provide the knowledge and skills needed to more successfully integrate into the workplace. The training provides an overview of the organizational structure, vision, values, mission, strategic plan, principals of practice, and a brief summary of agency programs. Emphasis is given to planning, time management, and setting priorities. Another strong focus of the training is discussion of the importance of change management and cultural diversity. Additionally, technical information regarding LEO, DCFS Intranet, Outlook, and Travel Expense procedures are included, as well as an overview of CAFE and Document Imaging. Discussion and exploration of soft skills are an important component of the training curriculum.
